Hello and welcome to Story Time for Grownups. I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading

The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. Each episode, I'll read a few chapters from the book,

pausing from time to time to give brief explanations, so it's easier to follow along. It's like an

audiobook with built-in notes.

So brew a pot of tea, find a cozy chair, and settle in.

It's story time. So I'm starting to feel like maybe actually the villain of this book is me, leaving you with all these cliffhangers.

Marion is still at Blackwater Park and Laura has left to go to London and be met at the train station by Count Fosco.

What is going on, you guys? What the heck? So we've got to figure this out. We've got to find out what is

happening next. Thank you for all your emails. I got so many emails this time because, of course,

what is going on. We did not expect this at all.

What a cliffhanger, right? So we will get into it. We will figure out what is going on, at least

somewhat, I hope, and last to talk about. So before we get into it, just a quick thank you to

everyone that came to the tea time on Thursday. We had a lovely chat. I really enjoy these

tea times and thank you to those of you who were there. We talked about the book. We talked about

our favorite villains in literature and movies and shows. And we chatted more generally about
