podcast from the St Paul Center where we take a close look at certain passages of

scripture and delve deeply into the truth of God's

word. Today I am again joined by my good friend and co-worker Rob Corzine.

Welcome, Rob.

It's so good to be here. Well, what have we discussed? We have decided upon looking at John

for the Samaritan woman at the well who meets up with Jesus and then later becomes known as Saint Fotini.

Like so many good ideas, this popped up in a meeting where you were just sharing about

St Fotini and someone in the meeting is like, that was was awesome you guys should do a

podcast on that and so here we are but St Fotini is not a name that most of us have

ever even heard no St Fotini is better known in the East, but the feast that she has in March is still a long way

off for us at this point in time, but this figure is so beautiful because she is widely regarded as a saint in both the east and the west, and she is much celebrated as well.

We'll probably look more closely at her bio later on, but suffice to say that we have a narrative arc that

begins in John 4 where Jesus sows the seeds of the gospel for her and for all of her townspeople because by the end of this tale

you'll recall that the people in the village say before we heard from you and we believe

but now we know him to be the savior of the world.

It's like, really? How does that happen? Well that's where the art begins because as you

trace it beyond the Gospels into the book of acts, we hear about Philip

evangelizing the Samaritans and in Acts 8, what happens when they are believing and get baptized? Well, John, the evangelist here, as well as
