So I reviewed the Stormy Daniels memoir for Vanity Fair back in 2018.

Great book. It really is. Really?

What I said is that it's like what I thought Hillbilly Elegy was going to be.

Oh wow, all right, that's a great line.

Because it's the story of a person who kind of grows up in deprivation.

She's originally from Louisiana.

She makes good in a way that's kind of unconventional, but she at her core

doesn't really change from being a person who, you know, she feels like she represents, you know,

forgotten America. And I think that that is what is so symbolically strange about this encounter

between these two people is that, you know, Trump is the person who's speaking to this

idea of America that may not be real and Stormy herself is such a fascinating avatar of it.

And Stormy is an unregistered Republican.

Yes, yes, she had mainly voted for Republicans for most of her life.

Unbelievable, right? I mean, and of course Donald Trump had been a Democrat.

Just the weirdest story ever told.
