1:38.0 | Let's kick it off. This is such a loaded question, but in the most concise way, can you tell us how you got here, how you got into doing all the incredible things that you do? |
1:50.0 | It's something I think about really frequently around this time of year, because had we met seven years ago, you would have just been meeting a completely different person. |
2:00.0 | And what ultimately kickstarted this journey of me becoming the version of me that people know today and the book and the event and the podcast is, I actually self published a book, which is why I was so excited to talk to you, because I know this is a big part of your story. |
2:17.0 | And I did that quite literally because I had never set a goal that felt so much bigger than me that I didn't know I would be good at very much like perfectionist only wanted to do things that I knew I would be good at. |
2:30.0 | And that was the first time I actually set a goal and finished it that I did not know going in whether or not that would be successful. |
2:38.0 | And I quite literally did it just to prove to myself I had this restlessness inside that I was like, something has to shift because I know there's more in me. |
2:49.0 | Everyone else is looking at this version of my life that looks successful and it was, but I know there's so much more to give. |
2:55.0 | And that book ended up going on to to inspire this little event that was just supposed to be my book lunch event and celebration and then women said, well, when's the next one and I quite literally said, this is it, this is all I'm doing, I haven't thought further than this. |
3:10.0 | But I realized that I was on to something and it's why I'm so passionate about the work that you do in your message because you know I didn't sell that book to become this famous author I did it to prove something to myself and it quite literally changed my whole damn life. |
3:29.0 | And there's so many other nuances to that story, but for whatever reason for your audience, I feel like that's really the part to point out because it was doing the thing that I felt like I had no business doing and I got to meet myself in the moment when I wanted to quit and I kept going instead that's quite literally it. |
