Summary

We have a big announcement: Tumble en Español is returning on September 25th! This is a rebroadcast of an episode of Tumble from last season. If you can't wait to hear the Spanish-language version, just go subscribe to Tumble en Español wherever you get your podcasts. Why are there so many axolotls in fishtanks, and so few in the wild? That’s what Maximiliano wants to know. You may have found axolotls in the lush caves of Minecraft, but in real life, they live in the lakes and canals of Xochimilco, near Mexico City. But the species is slowly disappearing from its native habitat. Axolotl veterinarian Horacio Mena takes us on a journey to Xochimilco to find out what scientists are doing to save these adorable amphibians. This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. 2415575. Want to hear Aidee's Album "Nothing Rhymes With Orange?" Just click here. But in the meantime, we're excited to share with you that next week, we have a different show that we're launching.

0:24.3

It is the fourth season of Tumble in Español.

0:28.9

Yay!

0:29.8

Woo!

0:31.1

Tumble in Español is hosted by Nouria Net and Alvaro Ramos, and it's the Spanish language adaptation of Tumble, which means it's much more than a translation.

0:39.8

Yes, it's not word for word because Noria and Alvaro brings so much of themselves to the show, and they're awesome.

0:48.6

They really are. You should hang out with them sometime, guys. They're great.

0:52.8

Yes, we've been doing this show since 2020, which is why

0:57.3

this is our fourth season. So there's already a lot of episodes out there. And we're so excited for

1:03.1

the new ones because this is our best season yet. You know, fun fact, Tumble and Español is actually

1:07.9

the first ever Spanish adaptation of an English language kids podcast,

1:11.6

which is kind of amazing. And we did it because we really wanted to bring what we do to Spanish

1:16.6

speaking families all over the world. And I can tell you, Spanish speaking families all over the

1:21.0

world are listening. And I have to say, we've learned a lot of Spanish while we've been working

1:26.5

on the show. Yeah, did you know, for example, that the Spanish word for axolotel is acolote?

1:32.7

I did because of this show.

1:35.9

And I think aholote just rolls off the tongue a lot better than axolotles,

1:40.4

which I did not actually know how to pronounce in English before.

1:45.4

Yeah.
