| 1:44.1 | Welcome to the Beat Podcast. I'm your host today, Jacques Lyokov. And today we have Stephanie Rosen. And we're going to be talking about a topic that I think everyone can relate to. We've all been in the place where we want to start our garden, but maybe it seems a little bit of expense to it, or it's just difficult to find everything you need. And she wrote this fantastic book called The Wild and Free Garden, which I could definitely relate to, because I keep my garden pretty wild as well. And I'm always looking for something for you to add to the space. Now, it's a really interesting book. And I think today what we're going to really talk about is essentially how can we save money in the garden, but still make it feel like a nice garden. Like it doesn't, when people think of like budget, they think of maybe like cheap or like it's not going to look great. But that's not really true at all. But before we get into all that, I'd love for you to introduce yourself where you're gardening, like what brought you into gardening? And if you have like a style that you would consider yourself as a certain type of gardener, I'd also love to hear that. Okay, so hi, Jallok. Hi, everybody. I'm Stephanie Rose. |

| 2:09.8 | gardening in a second, but you'll see how my garden became this wild and free garden over time. |
| 2:16.7 | I'm a permaculture designer. I am an organic master gardener. I'm also an |
| 2:21.7 | herbalist and a natural skincare formulator. So I come from gardening from a perspective of following |
| 2:28.0 | the path of nature. I don't think we need to, and like the more trial and error you have, the more you learn as a gardener, |
| 2:38.2 | the more we develop and grow as gardeners. You know that. We know that. And so it's really about |
| 2:45.1 | this idea of getting sort of down to grassroots, literally trying things and failing and not following the structure |
| 2:56.0 | of you need to buy everything perfectly put together and have an instant Instagram-worthy garden |
| 3:03.3 | immediately. It's about developing it a little bit over time, but also with the mentality of |
