Studio. It's your first time here. It is. Welcome to the double X gap test. It's your first time

hosting. I'm so excited. And in New York, in Slate's New York studio, we have, for the first time on the podcast, Anna Holmes, who you might know as the founder of Jezebel. She's currently at Topic. And welcome, Anna. We're so happy to have you. Hi. I'm a thrill to be here as well. I kind of wish I was in the same room as you guys, but I am very happy to

be here, and hopefully I can still make a contribution, even though I'm some hundred miles away

from you guys. We're sure you will. And, you know, usually Hannah's the one alone in a studio. And so I

know she's really happy when she gets to be here talking to somebody in person.

I know it can be isolating, but just look through the window into the comforting eyes of June and Daniel.

Anytime you feel scared.

Okay. Yeah, I won't feel scared. I might just feel awkward.

One small order of business before we get into our topics for today. We are still looking for

new names for our podcast, double X, as I think Hannah mentioned in last week's podcast, sounds a

little bit like porn. We're trying to move away from a biological essentialism idea of gender.
