Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast.

We'd like to get right into it and what we're going to get into now is the media story

of the day.

You don't usually do media stories, but this one is really big, and it's about what you

might call the weird world of CNN.

We've probably heard the oldest and the lowest rated of the big three cable news networks

is in just a meltdown these days.

Much of the staff of CNN is very upset about the sudden and unexpected firing of the network

president, Jeff Zucker, who was dismissed for not reporting an affair with a subordinate.

Big news.

Here's the weird thing that few seem to be talking about, and the point I really want

to make in this podcast, the weird thing they're not talking enough about all of the angst

and the uproar in the tumult is over a man who was running the network into the ground.

Okay, so I'm going to talk about the drama a little bit later, but first this.

A few days ago, mediaite, interesting website, ran a story, headline, quote, January ratings.

Fox News hits 20 years at number one while CNN and MSNBC see massive drops from last

year.

Now they weren't kidding when they said massive.

The article reported that compared to last year, CNN quote, is down 74% in total viewers

and 81% in the demo during daytime, let me explain right now, there's something called

the demo, which is TV talk for the advertisers most sought after viewers who were between

18 and 49 years of age.
