This is KXP's weekly mix, a cosmic love letter.

I have to tell you, this theme really took me by surprise, and I still haven't quite settled on

what sparked it. It might have been the planetary alignment of Venus,

planet of love, and Mercury, the messenger, tugging at our collective heartstrings. Or maybe it's

because we're smack dab in the middle of playful, shiny Leo season. Or perhaps more pragmatically,

it's because we've been going through a global pandemic together,

and we need a little extra shimmer, joy, and love in our lives.

Regardless, when I was collecting tracks and trying to zero in on a theme,

I kept noticing lyrics tied to love and also prose referencing different celestial bodies in the night sky.

I felt compelled to create a mix that on a micro level embodied the many facets of love,

like lovers, friends, family, and on a more macro level spoke to the universal

enamourment with space, stars, and planets, and how being

from one planet creates a level of global community and shared humanity.

The songs came together with the intention of channeling a feeling of joy, expansion, and

of being in relationship with that which is occurring around us, how we're all

connected, and the impact we have on one another. You can kind of think of it like a sonic

love letter being transmitted through various artists, perspectives, and sounds directly

to you. I think you'll see what I mean.
