Welcome to another edition of the running podcast. I'm John Richards, your host and fellow runner,

keeping you company on these runs. Today's run a little different. We're going to start very

mellow and build as the mix goes on, starting with this very cool Kelly Lee Owens track called

Corner of My Sky. We're also going to be quoting listeners and quotes that listeners

sent in. I got on a morning show recently and asked, hey, what motivates you as a runner? What

words do you need to hear? And we have some really good ones in the podcast today. First one comes

in from our running friend, Principal Todd. I actually ran into Principal Todd, running Ragnar a couple

years ago. At his school, I was crashed out in their lawn. It was legal. He said, here's my

favorite running quote. Someday, you will not be able to do this. And today is not that day.

Simple, but to the point. You have to decide you are going to do this, and you're

going to continue to decide you're going to do this as the run goes on. Lisa wrote in, Dr. Seuss.

You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction

you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know, and you are the one who will decide where to go. So you
