My name's Tia Ho. Part of my work at KexP involves building a strong digital community by raising awareness around music that matters.

As a Vietnamese-American woman, I wanted to amplify the art and voices of Asian and

Pacific Islander artists, especially in light of the discrimination we're seeing against these

communities as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. As a station, we decided to join the national

celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month to highlight API artists who enrich our global

music community. While we listen to these artists year-round, our month-long celebration is coming

at a critical time. It's more important than ever to reflect on their contributions to a music

community, both here in Seattle and around the globe. For this special episode of the weekly

mix, DJ's Cheryl Waters, John Richards, and Kevin Cole have curated a set spotlighting some of these many incredible artists.
