0:51.8	and I want you to find Chapter 1, if you would do so as we begin this particular meeting,
0:55.8	Daniel chapter number 1, famous verse, very familiar.
0:58.2	You know the problem with familiar texts?
1:00.1	They are familiar.
1:03.9	And they're so familiar that sometimes we miss it.
1:06.4	And we say, I think I know that already.
1:07.6	We skim right over it.
1:08.6	We're beginning here.
1:10.7	Look at Daniel chapter one, verse number 8. We get a little
1:11.8	snapshot, if you will, of Daniel as a very young man, perhaps 17, 18 years of age. The Bible says in
1:18.3	Daniel chapter 1 verse 8, but Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with a
1:25.0	portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank.
1:29.1	Therefore, he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
1:35.1	And I love this little expression. He purposed in his heart. Let me just say to you, if you follow
1:40.8	Christ, it will never be on accident. It must be on purpose. It's intentional.
