We began our study in these verses, verse 5, 6, 7, and 8 at looking at the secret place,

what it means to get in the quiet place with God.

For the record, let me just say this, a bridge in the gap here to where we're going,

that's not just geographical or circumstantial.

For example, there are times that on an airplane,

I have had a meaningful season with the Lord.

Somebody said, during turbulence, oh, yes, you pray during turbulence,

but that's not really what I had in mind.

There are times surrounded by people that I'm in the secret place with the Lord.

How many of you understand what I mean by that?

So it is not just that you don't pray in public.

That's not what I'm talking about.

It really is more the attitude of the heart towards God that gets our eyes off of the people and back on the Lord. What did the hymn writer write?

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face and the things of this world

will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace. So real prayer is getting Godward.
