Did you open your copy of the Word of God in the book of Acts?

We're coming to one of the early churches, one of the first century churches in Acts chapter

number 11.

And interestingly enough, it becomes really the epicenter for world missions.

If you said, where is the church that was the church from which

the gospel launched out to the uttermost parts of the earth? It was not the church at Jerusalem.

That's where it started, but that's not really where the ripple effect took place. It was rather

the church in a place called Antioch.

And so we come to Acts chapter number 11 and verse number 19,

where the Bible says,

now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution

that arose about Stephen.

How many of you remember Stephen?

Remember the first martyr of the

Christian church? All right. So because of his stoning, persecution comes. People begin to

leave where they are in Jerusalem. We'll come back to that thought in a moment. And they
