We began this Lord's day in the opening verses of Titus 1,

learning how to get ready for what God has to say.

And then we zeroed in on this great truth that

Crete needs Christ. May I just remind you that Christ is the same in every culture? In fact,

the message of Christ crosses all cultural bounds. I think sometimes we use culture as an excuse. May I say to you,

church, listen to me please, we have no excuse for not preaching Christ. If Christ is all sufficient,

if the gospel is still the power of God unto salvation if the Lord still answers

prayer the Holy Spirit is still at work and Christ is still building his church then it doesn't matter

how bad the culture may be the message of Christ still saves sinners and I hope that's something

that will get deeply in your soul. You know,

when we get to heaven and we stand at the judgment seat of Christ and we stand next to the martyrs

of the ages, we're going to be pretty ashamed when we say, well, you know, our culture really gave

us a hard time. We have no excuse because Crete needs Christ.
