I want you to open the word of God with me.

Would you please, the gospel according to Matthew,

to Matthew chapter number 21,

and we're going to pick up right where we left off in the Bible study hour.

We are studying this week in parallel to the week we're living the most important week in the history of the world.

If I ask you this morning, what's the most important week in history?

People would talk about certain wars and turning points and the coming to power

of certain people. I don't know what comes to your mind, but let me tell you on the authority

of the Word of God that the most important week in history was the week that our Lord Jesus

Christ was crucified, buried, and rose again from the dead. Because that week did not just touch time, that week touches eternity.

Do you understand that if our Lord Jesus had not come and lived through this week as he did

and died at the end of this week as he did and then praise God rose from the dead at the beginning of the next week as he did,

that you and I would have no hope, none.

The whole reason for which we're gathered here today, the whole purpose behind the songs we sing and the prayers we offer,
