| 0:00.0 | There is no substitute for the preaching and teaching of God's Word. Each weekday on enjoying the journey, Scott Pauley leads us in a brief study of Scripture. |
| 0:20.3 | Today, on the weekend pulpit, we are happy to share a full-length Bible message given through Scott's pulpit ministry. These messages were recorded live in a local church or gospel event in recent days. It is our prayer that the message will be a help to you today. And I'm going to turn your attention today to one of the gospel records as we begin this special season of the year where our attention is especially drawn to Christ. |
| 1:06.1 | I want you to open the Word of God with me, if you will, today, to the gospel according to John, to John |
| 1:11.2 | chapter number 10. I wonder if you have a favorite gospel record. I like what your pastor said, |
| 1:16.9 | favorites whichever one you're in at the time. My favorite, if I had to pick one, somebody said, |
| 1:21.8 | you've got to get one, would be Mark. I don't know all the reasons for that, but I really like |
| 1:27.1 | the gospel according to Mark. |

| 1:38.9 | How about Luke? Dr. Luke? How about John? How many of you never read the Bible? Would you raise your hand, please? |
| 1:45.0 | Pick one, you know? |
| 1:47.1 | I would say most people think John because John is the most familiar. |
| 1:52.8 | And as a matter of fact, you think, you know, the gospel in a nutshell, John chapter 3, |
| 1:56.6 | verse number 16. |
| 1:57.5 | It was the last gospel record to be written. |
| 1:59.2 | It is the interpretive gospel record, |
| 2:01.8 | meaning by that, that it takes all the records that are given in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, |
| 2:05.7 | and it gives some definition and interpretation to it. It's almost like a commentary on the |
| 2:10.8 | life of Christ, and it is rich and wonderful. And when you come to John chapter 10, you come to a |
| 2:16.0 | famous chapter, in fact, and I'm not going to preach the famous part this morning. |
| 2:20.1 | The famous part are the opening verses where our Lord is speaking and refers to himself as the good shepherd that gives his life for the sheep. |
| 2:28.1 | Aren't you glad he's the good shepherd? |
