We have been examining all the things that really pertain to family life in Paul's final letter.

I had not given much attention to this until recent days, and just, it's amazing to me.

You know, you really do need the whole counsel of God.

I learned years ago that all of Scripture has some application to all of life so for example

we may say well this passage now this is really about family do you understand that families

need all of the word of god that it really is just about the application of truth to every

area of our lives. This really became real to me when I started working with young people in

Knoxville, thinking now almost 30 years ago. That's hard for me to imagine, but more than 25 years ago,

I started working with the teenagers there at the Temple Baptist Church, and Pastor Sexton had a certain way about him.

He didn't just give titles out, and he didn't even just assign responsibility.

He would try a little before he tried a lot.

And I remember I just started working for him and he said,

Scott, we need somebody to work with young people for a little while.
