or gospel event in recent days. It is our prayer that the message will be a help to you today. Start again in Genesis chapter 12, and I'm going to read just a handful of verses and have you

mark something in your bible then we're going to walk back through it look beginning in verse number

six the bible says and abram passed through the land we're all just passing through aren't we

this is not our permanent home solomon talked about going to our long home. Where's your long home? That's where we're going someday. So in a sense, we're all nomads. I'm a traveler. As an evangelist, I'm in a different place every week. Last Sunday, I was preaching in California. That's a long ways from New Hampshire. Next Sunday I'll be in another state.

And just from place to place to place.

And so I understand a little bit about this traveler's life.

But in a very real sense, we're all just travelers

because we are pilgrims in this world and our home is eternity.

So Abraham's a picture here.

Abram passed through the land under the place of Sycambe,

under the plain of Mora, and the Canaanite was then in the land. And the Lord appeared unto Abram

and said, unto thy seed will I give this land? And there built he an altar unto the Lord who appeared unto him.

Do you see the two parts here, the two sides of the communication in verse number seven?

On God's side, revelation, on Abraham's side, response.

Do you remember what I said here this morning?

You can't meet God and be the same?

When Abraham saw the Lord and heard from God what

did he do immediately he built an altar he said this is a holy place God is here I'm going to meet
