That's breakaway m-in Now, on to today's message.

I was 21. I just turned 21, and not to be too dramatic, but it honestly felt like the story

of my life was unraveling. I had just transferred from the first school I had played college basketball

in Texas to California. I had been wooed there by a coach using words like NBA range and pro

ready and all kinds of things like that. And I was six games into the season

with my new school and I was not playing and I was in a panic. I was in a total panic. Not so much

because of the playing time thing itself, but because the story of my life was unraveling.

Because the story of my life went something like this, that I, Brian, am going to go to college,

and I'm going to outwork everybody when I get there on the basketball team,

and I'm going to slowly earn my minutes, and I'm going to exceed all expectations, and I'm going to get accolades, and I'm going to slowly earn my minutes and I'm going to exceed all expectations

and I'm going to get accolades and I'm going to get to go overseas, maybe play in Europe,

see the world, make some money, all that. Maybe glorify God on the side, use it as a platform.

I don't know. We'll see what happens. This is as I was clearly writing with the pen and that is the

story I had written.
