Summary

Episode 159

In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all.

The astrology of the week of January 1st, 2024, starts out a bit measured and murky, but ends with greater speed and clarity. On Monday, Mercury (the planet of communication) stations direct, but since it’s in a square to Neptune (the planet of illusions), details will remain hazy. Also on Monday, Venus (the planet of love) squares Saturn (the planet of boundaries), bringing a bit of a reality check. On Thursday, Mars (the planet of action) moves into Capricorn, helping us get things done. Though this week starts out slow, by the end we’ll have the motivation to initiate our plans, boldly and practically, into the new year.

Here's to an abundant 2024. Happy New Year. Happy Gregorian calendar.

1:17.0

It means literally nothing to me except for the fact that we've all agreed upon the fact that

1:21.8

this is the first day of a new year. It is not an astrologically aligned kind of way of thinking. However, January 1st

1:31.0

is close-ish to the December solstice. So in that way, I do agree that there is a kind of renewal

1:39.9

that happens at that time. Either way, here or there, January 1st is Monday this year. Monday,

1:47.3

Mercury Stations Direct, so we can signal the little party emoji to go off on our screens,

1:56.7

but also, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, it's stationing direct in a very sticky, tricky

2:02.8

situation. So I just want us to all think about how we communicate, what we're communicating,

2:10.9

the details that go missing. I want us to just consider that we're still in a mercury

2:16.0

retrograde e kind of moment, meaning there's going

2:19.8

to be a lot of misunderstandings or things getting lost until next Tuesday. So this first week

2:28.4

of January should be out of office as much as is possible. I know that's not possible for everyone, but to whatever

2:36.1

degree you can consider thinking that way, please do. There are supportive things happening

2:42.8

this week. I'm not saying it's all like that, but I am saying that this is just exceptionally

2:48.1

mushy and murky and unclear. As Mercury stations and turns direction,

2:55.5

even though it's going forward now, it pulls focus and it's very slow. So we can think of
