0:15.1 | It involves farmers, scientists, a giant corporation and damage to millions and millions of acres |

0:24.2 | But let me start with this one farmer in southeastern Missouri, a peach farmer. |
0:30.5 | A few years ago he started noticing this strange and disturbing thing. |
0:34.8 | The leaves on his peach trees were just kind of curling up. |
0:38.1 | He was one of the first to see this but in the years since there have been thousands and |
0:42.2 | thousands of farmers have seen the same thing all across the Midwest from Minnesota in |
0:46.5 | the north down to Mississippi in the south. |
0:50.0 | And at this point they pretty much know what's happening. |
0:52.4 | This is damage from a particular weed killer that neighboring farmers are spraying. |
0:57.1 | So other farmers spray it on their own crops but it can travel to neighboring farms. |

1:02.6 | And it's a specific weed killer called Dicamba which has gotten really popular just in |
1:07.3 | the last few years especially among soybean farmers. |
1:09.9 | Well that peach farmer I mentioned he is in court right now in Missouri. |
1:14.3 | He has filed a lawsuit over this. |
1:16.4 | And what's interesting to me is that this farmer is not suing his neighbors. |
