How many times have you been born?

Once for sure.

When I told the doctor one week before I actually went into labor,

oh, by the way, I don't want any medication.

He said, oh, no, no, we're going to have a forcips delivery.

But then some of us choose a kind of rebirth.

I don't feel like I as an individual have changed, and I don't feel like my personality has changed.

I just feel really excited because now I get to look in the mirror and see who I've kind of always seen.

And some discover they've been born again.

Wow. Here I am. It's raining. I'm being baptized by God himself.

I'm looking over this beautiful Bay Area. There's a new life beginning.

A midwife, a transgender man, and a born-again Christian.

Stories of birth, rebirth, and being born again.

The first birth is when you arrive as a wet, wiggling newborn,

but there may be other transitions in your life that feel just as difficult and profound.
