The Bible clearly states that there is one way to God that it's through faith in Jesus Christ.

0:12.0

Instead of being narrow and limited, today you'll hear how open and inviting the way to God really is.

0:19.0

There is only one God, but how many ways are there to this God?

0:25.0

That is the question that oftentimes people ask, and many people have the idea that there are many different ways to God.

0:32.0

And the question is, what does God say about how many ways there are to know Him, to meet Him, and to spend eternity with Him?

0:43.0

And that's what I want to talk about in this message, the way to God.

0:47.0

And I want you to turn if you will to John chapter 14.

0:50.0

And in this 14th chapter of John, Jesus the night before He's crucified, is comforting His disciples, and He begins by saying in the very first verse,

let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me.

1:09.0

In my father's house, so many dwelling places, if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare place for you,

1:17.0

and if I go and prepare place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself that where I am, there you may be also.

And you know the way where I'm going. Thomas said to him, Lord, we do not know where you're going, how do we know the way?

1:34.0

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth in the life, no man comes to the Father, but through me. How many ways are there to God?

1:46.0

But one of the reasons that there is a great deal of confusion about how many ways there are to God is because we do not understand the condition of man from God's viewpoint.

1:58.0

I want you to turn if you will to Romans chapter 5. And in the 5th chapter of Romans, Paul describes the real problem with mankind, and he says beginning in verse 12 of Romans 5,

2:12.0

he says therefore just as through one man sin in the world, who was that? That was Adam. Adam was in a state of a sinless condition until he sinned against God, and the Bible says that sin in the world and death through sin, and so death spreads to all men because all sin.

2:32.0

So man's heart is corrupted, man by nature has been corrupted by sin because every person who's ever been born thereafter came into this world with a sinful nature.

2:42.0

That's why you do not have to teach your child to do wrong. You don't have to teach them to disobey, to rebel, to be indifferent because we just sort of come into the world knowing those things, but we have to be taught discipline.

2:56.0

And we have to be taught to obey and taught to be submissive and taught to yield. And so why is it you don't have to teach us to do wrong because that is our nature.

3:06.0

We come into the world every single child born following Adam came into this world with a sinful nature against God, and among their first two children one killed the other, murdered the other brother.

3:19.0

And so God sees humanity as corrupted. Now here's the thing I want us to see. That sin is not the result that is what makes me a sinner is not the fact that I did this or did that or misbehaved or my conduct here.
