Let's all stand and open our Bibles or look to the screens in the book of Proverbs chapter 1.

And last week was introduction.

Was anybody here last week?

Ten, a few of you?

Okay.

So we're going to, don't be intimidated.

We're going to read this chunk now.

And I spent with the introduction laying down the ground rules of the very book of Proverbs.

And so today, as we looked at this, by God's grace, and I'm looking at the clock, verses

1 to 19 today.

And so I'll pick verse one.

If you guys would read out loud verse number two all the way down to verse 19.

It goes this way.

The Proverbs of Solomon and the son of David, king of Israel.

To know wisdom and instruction to perceive the words of understanding.

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity.

To give prudence to the simple, to the young man, knowledge, and discretion.

A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.

To understand a proverb in an enumma, the words of their wise and their riddles.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

My son, hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake the law of your mother.
