And today we have a very special guest, it is screenwriter Emma Nidel who has a movie directed by David O'Yellowow coming out May 7th in theaters.

It's called The Water Man. Emma, welcome to the show.

Hello, thank you so much for having me. I am a fan of CinemaSense and this is very exciting.

Yeah, yeah, I know you lied to us earlier.

I wanted on record.

I'll start off with the very basic thing. Tell us what The Water Man is about and what was your inspiration for this story.

Yeah, so I want to, I'm a writer, so I can't help but tell a little bit of a story.

So I wrote this script when I moved out to LA. It was like three years after I had moved and it was a pretty rough transition.

I was a broke college grad and I did no soul. I had no connections whatsoever.

And writing became a way for me to feel empowered creatively.

But I knew I needed some help in writing it because I had written five really bad screenplays at that point and I couldn't crack the code.

And so I started taking evening classes at UCLA Extension where I learned how to write.
