Good Tuesday morning. Welcome to Squawk on the Street. I'm Carl Kintanier with Jim Kramer, David Faber at the New York Stock Exchange.

Coming off the worst day for the Dow in a couple of months and this morning futures add to losses as the president at the NATO summit says a China deal could be delayed until after the 2020 election.

Europe's reacting to that and the possibility of some new U.S. tariffs on French goods got the two yield the lowest in about two weeks.

A roadmap this morning begins with to wait or not to wait.

The president says might be better to delay a China trade deal until after the 2020 election.

Plus, stocks are a bit spooked by that.

Futures are pointing to a sharply lower open as investors weigh this new political rhetoric.

And trade did for tap.

The Trump White House proposing a wave of tariffs on French goods in response to the French tax on digital

services like Facebook and Google. So trade remaining in focus and what so far is a rough start

to December for stocks just hours ago in London, President made that market moving comment regarding

China trade. The China trade deal is dependent on one thing.
