In that episode, Robin remembers her dear friend and a dear member of the storytelling community in New York City,

Colleen Hinesley.

Well, Colleen told one of our favorite risk stories

from over the years, a classic.

It's called The Voice.

And so we thought as a part of this remembrance

of Colleen that we're doing with Robin's episode,

that we should also re-release Colleen herself sharing her

story with her own voice. So here is Colleen Hinesley now with the story we call the voice.

My dad and I were sitting together in the waiting room of the clinic where he was receiving

radiation treatments for his lung cancer.

And he was really quiet that day,

which was unusual for him because he was typically a very gregarious guy.

But that day he was really quiet and seemed very sad. So I of course was doing my best to try to distract him and making small talk and teasing him and trying to get him to laugh.

And he was having none of it.

He wouldn't even look at me, let alone smile.

So we just sat quietly for a few minutes.
