All right, everybody. So, day three, here we go. So in today's, today's topic of discussion in general is looking at some primary patterns that we see in holistic herbalism.

0:47.3

So I know some of you all are kind of just getting going in your plant path and your studies

0:52.3

in herbal medicine.

0:53.3

And like I was saying a few days ago, you know, one of my main messages lately is

1:01.0

cultivating what might refer to you as a holistic herbal practice.

1:09.0

What is holistic herbalism, right? What does it mean to be

1:13.6

holistic in our approach and our perspective and in our practice of plant medicine?

1:20.6

And, you know, for me, one of the things that I've noticed is kind of a myth that we see in the common culture,

1:28.3

especially, you know, permeating the halls of the alternative medicine world is, you know, this way of thinking that basically thinks that just because I use herbs or natural remedies means that I'm holistic.

1:47.0

And not a lot of people are really aware of the fact that herbal medicine can be practiced

1:55.0

alopathically, that we can suppress symptoms with herbs in a similar way that symptoms can be

2:10.7

that perhaps symptoms are suppressed or symptoms are treated without really looking at the root underlying cause

2:20.3

of that person's problem. And as a holistic practitioner, we always want to look at what the

2:27.9

root underlying cause of someone's issues are and treat that place. And to me, when we think of, you know, the word holistic,

2:39.2

you know, the root of that word holistic is whole, right? Holness to be whole. And on the one hand,

2:47.3

I think that is the ultimate goal for our healing. You know, the root of the word

2:51.2

healing and whole come from the same root. So to have our healing help people to have that sense

2:58.2

of wholeness and fulfillment in their life. And also that our healing should not just be

3:05.8

addressing the physiological level of being, right?

3:09.3

Because we're not just our bodies, right?
