Summary

The fourth and final Isaian image for this Advent season is the most powerful and the most mysterious: the virgin shall be with child. Never underestimate what God can do. As the angel said to Mary, "nothing is impossible with God." Even from our emptiness, God can bring forth salvation.

0:59.7	Second week we heard of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, all those gifts of mind
1:04.1	and soul that will be given to those who participate in the Messiah.
1:08.5	Last week we heard about the blooming desert.
1:12.8	The desert can be a place of preparation for great life.
1:16.8	And now, in this culminating fourth week, we get the greatest of the Isaiah and images.
1:23.4	Listen now, our first reading taken from the seventh chapter of the Prophet Isaiah.
1:29.6	Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you this sign.
1:35.8	The Virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel.
