somebody that had been mentioned on the show

as a youngish player signs a two-year $22 million contract and Jonathan this falls also under the category that Marcus Davenport did of players that are good bets for the Vikings to make.

I mean, when we laid out kind of the criteria of what types of players should the Vikings

look for in free agency.

It was not players like James Bradbury who signed a huge deal today. It was not the top past Russia.

Javan Hargrave, for example, wasn't those guys? They didn't have enough money to really compete for those guys

unless they wanted to make just one signing this off season. And plus, if you're hoping that one dude is going to turn around

your entire defense or make a huge change for you.

That usually doesn't happen and that's why we bring up the Yani K and Gageway trade all the time that they were hoping

one dude would entirely operate their past rush for 2020 and it blew up in their face.

So instead they are going out looking for young-ish free agents as young as free agents are allowed to be guys who might have

upside players who were drafted fairly high in the past Marcus Davenport and

Byron Murphy and I think that this fits perfectly for what they're trying to do, which is if you hit on the guy, then you've got a great chance to keep him long term, have it be a fit. And what we know is when players get into the building they usually want to stay with the Minnesota Vikings. We saw that from the NFLPA study. We have seen that from the past and you know I think that this is right along the lines of the type of move that they should be making and even if you know you're looking at his PFF grades you're looking at his passer rating against or you're looking at his statistics, you're probably not overwhelmed

and saying, oh wow, they got themselves a superstar, but also he's got three years of being a shade
