I'm your friend David Pierce and I am outside for the first time in kind of an alarmingly

long time.

I was sick most of last week, plus it's just like gray and dreary and cold and just gross

outside.

So I've mostly spent the last week just kind of lying on the couch,

feeling bad for myself and watching shows I've seen 50 times before, which no complaints.

It's a terrific way to spend your life, but I just needed to get outside. So we're just out for a walk.

By the way, I've gotten some questions from people over the last couple of weeks who are like,

David, what are you doing during these intros? Are you actually doing

these things or are you like lying to us? And the answer is I'm always doing these things.

I've done these intros from a train. I've done these intros from a paint shop. I've done

them while putting together Legos. I did one at one point like in a courth, and I don't think I was supposed to do that.

I don't think I got in trouble, but probably not a good idea.

But I'm here for you.

The other question I've gotten a bunch is, David, why do you start the show this way?

Nobody cares.

Just get to the tech news.

And to that, I say, that is terrific feedback.

And a perfectly fair point, it's also probably not going to change.

So I'm real sorry about that.
