Things have gotten a little spicy lately between Nancy Pelosi,

Centrist Democrats, and the Democratic bureaucracy on the

one hand and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and the squad on the other.

Now if you're not familiar with the back and forth we will get into the details in a second but

It's important to talk about because I think some people are tempted to downplay this conflict as this kind of petty

internal squabbling that distracts from the real burning

issue of the day of course which is opposing Donald Trump but to me this is

really lazy analysis because this conflict is very clearly not a personal

one, it's a political one that's based on two deeply conflicting visions of how to make social change happen.

AOC and the Squad are putting forward a bold moral and political vision

and that's a vision that's directly at odds with the tepid centrist one that Pelosi and many in the Democratic Party have been putting forward for decades.

So the conflict that we're seeing right now is a pretty necessary one.
