We're all still wrestling with where the left should go after the end of the second

Bernie Sanders campaign and as

devastated and forlorn as many of us still are at the end of that campaign the

reborn American socialist movement that came out of Bernie's two runs is not something

that we should take for granted.

And for those of us who understand that, that we can't just throw in the towel now, there are a few better thinkers to wrestle with than Leo Panich.

Leo is a professor emeritus of politics at York University in Toronto Canada.

He's the co-editor of The Socialist Register and the author of many books, including most recently, The Socialist Challenge Today, which he wrote with Sam Ginden and Stephen Marr, and searching for socialism, the project of the

labor left from Ben to Corbin with Colin Lays.

He also recently recorded a video for our stay-at-home YouTube series on the thought of Ralph

Milloband. Leo was Ralph's student at the London School of Economics and there is arguably no single thinker who has had a more

substantial impact on us at Jacobin than Ralph Millivan.
