Welcome back to Buckeye Talk, Doug Lamarace with Nathan Meredith, Steve and me,

we're doing a top 10. We are ranking the 10 most important Buckeyes for the 2023 football season.

Now, what does important mean? I think it's two different things. One is you're going to be really good,

but you're so good. You have a huge effect on the team and their success. And the other is,

well, you might be pretty good, or maybe you're not guaranteed to be good, and the gap between

if you're really good, or if you're not that good, would have a great effect on the Ohio State

Buckeyes in 2023. It's it's imprecise. It's sort of two things at once. It's certainly not the best

players, but there are some very good players. And it's not just players. We also put some coaches

on this list. What we did is that we came up with 20 that I sent out to the textures and I had the

tech subscribers rank them in order one through 20. Then Steven came up with his own list of 20.

Nathan came up with his own list of 20. I came up with my own list of 20. I combined those. So

there's four votes, three hosts, one texture vote, and we created a top 10 out of that. This podcast,

we're going to talk about numbers 10 through six. Another podcast will deal with the top five,

but we're also going to talk about some of the people that did not make the overall top 10,

that we had individually within our top 10s. So these are the people that just missed.

It doesn't mean they're 11th or 12th or 13th, but people that got a top 10 vote that did make the

top 10 overall list. And Nathan, one of the outliers for you, this is actually the person who had

the highest individual vote that did not make the top 10 overall, was Jordan Hancock,

who was number five on your ballot, Nathan. But he did not make the top 10. Why did you view Jordan

Hancock as the fifth most important Ohio State butt guy for this season? Just because it seems

like having a second cornerback that is that reliable. And reliable is maybe a tricky word. That
