So we've gone from Donald Trump threatening genocide against Iran to a catastrophic strategic defeat.

And literally there, just summing up, by the way, what many Trump supporting accounts have been describing the likes of Laura Luma, deeply unpleasant, Trump ally, who is currently having an epic meltdown over the ceasefire that's been agreed.

She thinks it's a catastrophic defeat and is kind of preparing a kind of stab in the back

narrative. What's going on? What next? I've got a brilliant guest today who is an Iranian-Canadian

your brilliant commentary, including, of course, during this hideous war, and lots of, including

actually Iranian friends who have been

recommending I talked to you so that's been overdue so it's great to be able to speak to you after

obviously it's been a hideous few weeks solidarity there always thank you just just your first

I mean firstly as I said huge privilege so just what your, what's your general response, I guess,

to where we're at today after yesterday we were literally some bracing for, well, a potential

genocidal onslaught that Donald Trump was threatening? Yeah, I mean, my initial reaction was

actually elation. I was elated that this was stopped at the 12th hour or 11th hour.

I really did think that they were going to go ahead with bombing the power plants.

And even before that, you know, it was just so heartbreaking to watch Iranians, even one and two people and then chains of people surrounding these very important

civilian infrastructures like power plants and bridges, etc. Of course, if you watch the Western

media, legacy media, they were saying that people were forced to go out and do this, but

that's just not true.

Specific Iranians, very well-known Iranians even took it upon themselves to go and sit in front of power plants, play musical instruments. I mean, it was at the same time both heartbreaking

and poetic to watch. So when I heard that, you know, this is not going ahead, I was really, really happy.

And then my second thought was, is Israel going to allow this?
