Welcome to Investing Insights. I'm your host, Ivana Hampton. How is the weakening dollar affecting your portfolio?

0:18.7

The world's reserve currency fell sharply in the first half of 2025, making it

0:23.6

a bruising year. It has recovered some, but still sits below where it started the year. Other

deficit concerns, tension between the White House and the Federal Reserve.

1:41.5

Whatever the case, the dollar had its worst first half in the first half

1:45.6

of 2025 for any year since 1973. So really fell versus major trading partners. It has rebounded

1:53.9

since then, but it's still down for the year. Now, I read your columns on morningstar.com,
