So I think the whole spy cops thing, it's very British in a sense, even though cops all over the world have been doing this, but it really kind of came to a head.

Really in Britain for like the most part,

when there was a scandal where basically a load of police in Britain were tasked with going undercover and infiltrating what was a burgeoning animal rights movement in the 2000s,

even before that as well, but a lot of it kind of came to a head then. And they spent years

undercover with these groups because the state felt like a lot of these animal rights groups

were quote-unquote terrorists. Some were doing militant activity. States going to label it that, of course, but someone. And the police

went way too far and essentially made a life with some of the people they were sent to monitor

still on the cover, still reporting back. more than one actually ended up having children with

one of the activists in this role and eventually, you know, was taken off the case, vanished,

and it all kind of came out. And to be fair, one of the officers actually went on the record,

you know, openly, no face, no censoring and said, yeah, I did this. And to be

honest, it was essentially a rape case because he was sleeping with people, having children with
