On a crisp autumn day in 1986, a couple from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, on a camping trip in Delaware's Blackbird State Forest, were taking a walk together when they came upon a sight that would shock and terrify them.

Lying there just 20 feet off the trail was a partially clothed body of a female, who, they would

soon learn, was killed by a shotgun blast to the back of her head. Her name was Jean Marie

Pritchard, she was 28 years old, and her murder remains unsolved to this day. From early childhood,

Jean was always known as a bit of an outdoors person. Her parents who

lived out in Barnesville, Maryland, remember her fondly as their little girl who loved horses,

nature, and above all, her family, especially her older brothers Keith and Greg. Gene was an

adventurous young woman, and independent almost to a fault.
