On the morning of February 10, 1990, 34-year-old Stephanie C. Sennak, the manager of the Las Cruces Bowling Alley, was in her office preparing for opening with her 12-year-old daughter, Melissa Rapas, and the girl's 13-year-old

friend, Amy Hauser. Both young girls were there to supervise the alley's daycare, and in the

kitchen was the 33-year-old cook, Ida Holguin, preparing for a day of business. She was there

when two men entered through the unlocked door,

and one pulled out a 22 caliber pistol and ordered Ida into Stephanie's office. When she walked

inside, absolutely terrified. She found Stephanie and the two girls already being held captive by the other gunman.

The men ordered them to lay down while taking about $4,000 to $5,000 from the bowling alley's safe.

Right around this time, Stephen Tehran, the 26-year-old pin mechanic, entered the building.
