My grandmother lived a life devoted to Jesus, and today her talks have been made available

in their original form.

So you too can be built up through the insights and mysteries God revealed to her throughout

her ministry.

Now without further ado, here is Elizabeth Elliott.

And I wanted to tell you just a little bit about the woman that I'm sure had the most important

influence in my life.

That was my mother.

My mother died in 1987, and at her funeral, each of us six children gave a two or three-minute

talk on some aspect of mother's character or personality.

And we took this in chronological order, I happen to be number two.

And my oldest brother Phil spoke about her availability, he said, mother was always there.

And we all are very grateful for that now.

Of course, we never thought about it as being anything.

She was just our mother, and that's what mothers are supposed to be, isn't it available?

And she was always there when we came home from school.

It wasn't that we wanted to sit down at her feet and share.

We didn't have that word share back when I was growing up.

Wasn't in our vocabularies at all.

And we did very little of that kind of thing in our home.
