Beyond it is another dimension, a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind.

You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance of things and ideas.

You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.

Last time on the Twilight Zone podcast, we touched upon the change of producers that took place in season 5 of the show,

and it was to be the final changing of producers that the show would see.

Burt Granath left after being made an offer that he couldn't refuse to work on a different show,

and in came William Frug.

Now Frug was an experienced producer, and Rod Serling was gracious in that he wanted him

to put his stamp on things and do what he wanted to do.

And Frug wasted no time in doing so, culling a number of scripts that were scheduled to become

Twilight's own episodes. Mark Zickrie covers this in the Twilight's own companion and he

name-checked a number of these unmade scripts, and they include The Doll by Richard Matheson and What the Devil by Archobler

and Gentleman Be seated by Charles Beaumont but also tied up in this are a couple of

scripts by one of the Twilight Zone's Unsung Heroes, Jerry Sol.

And I say Unsung Hero, because if you remember we've spoken before about how at this point,

Twilight Zone writer Charles Beaumont was sadly suffering with his health and was unable

to meet some of his deadlines.

So Jerry Sol ghost wrote several of Beaumont's Twilight

Zones for him. Now it's unclear whether the following two stories were going to be made using

Saul's own name or Charles Beaumont's but they were called Who Am I about a man who wakes up

and looks in the mirror and sees that his face has changed,
