And this week, we have to pause and deal with the disturbing places the Trump campaign has

taken us. So let me just be clear.

We're reporting some very ugly but very real stuff in this episode, and it may not be appropriate

for all audiences. Okay, so after this past week, I'm having trouble with the premise of our

podcast. So I think we should tease that out a bit more. What exactly is it we're doing here?

At its most basic, we're trying to understand why so many millions of people have been so

deeply enthusiastic about Donald Trump, a man who's promising to break up the old order,

but with few specifics about what the new order will look like.

Because whatever you think of Donald Trump's message,

it's not like it came out of thin air.
