We often speak about the 16th century reformation as though it were one big event,

kind of organized, it had a beginning, middle, and an end, or that it was one event, period.

And this isn't true, not theologically and not historically.

The Reformation was a series of events, some of them running in parallel, some of them running very different directions, all moving away from Rome, but what made the Lutheran Reformation
