Martha, Texas is an odd sort of place. The community of about 1,700 people is in the middle of the Chihuahuan. Chihuahuan Desert. turned up in the early 1970s, started buying up properties to renovate into art installations

and exhibition spaces,

and now a few decades on, Marfa has turned into something of an art up for hipsters who don't

mind dry heat. The other reason Martha is famous is for the lights, or Martha Ghost Lights,

strange dancing orbs in the sky that can sometimes be seen across the desert Vista just

before the sun rises or just
