Today on Summit Life with JD Greer, scripture says that your word God is a lamp to my feet.

I've always thought that verse was a little odd because I don't want a lamp for my feet.

I want a spotlight. I want to see with the end of this road.

What God does is he gives you enough to take a step and then you take the next step and then

he reveals a little more and then you take the next step and God cultivates your faith as you go.

let's join Pastor JD in Judges, chapter seven.

This is the story of a powerless people going up against the mightiest force in the region.

This would not be like wake forest taken on due. This would be like a JD middle school team

taken on Kentucky this year. Okay? That's how you need to read this. Judges, chapter six is where we

were last week and we saw that God had set the Midianites into Israel to chase them because of

their disobedience. But when Israel cried out in pain, God had compassion on them and he raised

up a deliverer for them, a deliverer named Gideon. Well, Gideon was not, as I explained, your typical

hero. When we first encounter Gideon, he is cowering in fear in a hole. But God turns him into a man

of bravery by assuring him of his presence with him. Well, at the end of chapter six, God tells Gideon

to go and mount a resistance against the massive Maraudian, Midianite militia, and Gideon true

to form, demers. And so God has to reassure him through a couple of tests that we now call the
