Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

in that war neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it this is an amazing confession

a confession of truth it is solomon's confession that for all of his money, he could not buy another day,

for all of his wisdom, he could not know when he was going to die, for all of his power,

he had no control to keep his spirit or to release his spirit.
