So first of all, we all know that a promotion comes to people who go

above and beyond their role. I wrote this and leave your mark many years ago, but it's true.

The work you do is paid for by your salary. The work you do above your role is where a promotion comes in.

I remember back in the day when we were talking about that trend of quitting and everyone had an uproar because they're like, I'm not doing anything beyond my scope.

Well, here's a newsflash. If you raise your hand for additional things

or you pitch in on something that is not your job, I can promise you your manager is going to
