Today, the president has tested positive for the coronavirus.

What's happening inside the White House and what this could mean for the election?

Early Friday morning, we learned the Twitter and a statement from the president's doctor

that President Trump and firstly Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus.

My name is Josh Chalcy.

I cover the White House for the Washington Post.

The president and the first lady tested positive for COVID-19.

The news came after Hope Hicks, a top 8 to the president, tested positive.

They remain in good spirits.

The president does have mild symptoms.

McMotos is chief of staffs as the president is experiencing mild symptoms,

but it's still working in the residents.

And they have not been specific on what mild symptoms mean.

And as we look to try to make sure that not only his health and safety and welfare is good,

we continue to look at that for all of the American people.
