I want to devote today's program to something that has been in the air now for several years, getting all kinds of attention

from the President of the United States and the leaders around the world on down to all the rest of us.

It is something claimed to be going on.

It is also sometimes claimed to be the goal of the policies of the United States, China, and other

It's called decoupling. And here's the idea that once upon a time over recent decades

we had what was called globalization, a kind of global,

reconstruction, you might even say, of the economy,

where we all became interdependent, one upon the other,

every corner of the world tied in, LinkedIn,

intertwined with every other.

And with that background, the argument goes,

we are now in what might also be called the opposite of globalization, namely decoupling, disconnecting
